Public Speaking Competition

Students from  St David’s College took part in the first annual Public Speaking Competition for Catholic Schools & Colleges organised by the Cardiff Circle of the Catenian Association.  

The worthy winner on the day was Adam Robjohn .  He accepted  the Winner’s Certificate, a Voucher for £30.00  and the “Bernard Deere Shield” to be retained for 12 months.

The chief judge, Helen Stevens, in her summing up, congratulated all the competitors on their enthusiasm and for the hard work they had put in,  researching their various topics. She stated that all the presentations were of a high standard, and that participation in events like this would help prepare them for their future careers.

David Maddox for the Cardiff Catenians,  thanked  Mark Leighfield  Principal of St David’s College and his staff for the use of their facilities and hoped that this would become an annual event for  Senior Students of Catholic Schools & Colleges in South Wales.
