Back to School for Olivia
Before there meeting on 17 February 2014, Cardiff Circle President Bill O’Brien was delighted to present a Bursary cheque for £350 to 18 year old Cardiff University student Miss Olivia Walker. Olivia who is studying Education and Sociology is travelling to Kenya in June 2014 to take part in 5 weeks of voluntary work with the Lasallian Developing World Projects. In Kenya she will be helping to build a staff room at St Mary’s School in Nyeri. Whilst she is there, Olivia will also be helping with English lessons for the pupils. President Bill wished Olivia well for her trip and asked to come back later in the year to talk to Circle about her visit.
