Katherine has her Eye on Uganda
Before their AGM on 15 April 2013, outgoing Cardiff President Bro Mark Johnson made a presentation of a Bursary award from the Association to Katherine Adams who is a student at Cardiff University where she is a member of the SVP. Katherine was presented with a cheque for £250 and she told the Brothers present that she would be travelling to Uganda in early August to work in the Benedictine Eye Hospital in Tororo. She will also be joining the outreach screening programmes in local schools working with teachers to raise awareness of how to detect eye problems. Katherine thanked the Association for the kind award to help with her expenses and she agreed to come back later in the year and talk to the Circle about her experiences in Uganda.
