From Cardiff to Malawi
As his first duty as newly elected President of Cardiff Circle, Bro. Gerry Lynch was delighted to attend Mass at St Joseph’s, Penarth, after which he presented 18 year old Emma Leering with a Bursary Award of £1,300. Emma is 18 years of age and is in the Upper Sixth Form of Stanwell School in Penarth and has been offered a place in Leeds University reading International Development and Geography. Before going up to Leeds, Emma is taking a gap year and travelling to Malawi in August with a charitable organisation called, “The Project Trust Organisation and Charity”. Whilst in Malawi she will spend a year as a teacher and carer and is hoping to get involved with a HIV / Aids project. Emma has promised to come and visit the Circle upon her return and give us an insight into her experiences.
