Zambia Calls Emma & Becky

President of Cardiff Circle, Bill O’Brien, is pictured presenting £350 Bursary Awards to 17 year old students Emma Cooney and Becky Gibbs. Emma and Becky were leaving for Mufulira, Northern Zambia to spend three weeks working in the SMA parish pre-school nursery which accommodates 30 children from the ages of 2 to 7 years of age and is run by SMA priests. The project aims to provide a safe learning environment to some of the parish’s poorest children. It creates the conditions for young mothers to find employment whilst being assured that their children are being well looked after. The nursery aims to provide the children with early educational opportunities, something that they would otherwise never have.
