A Helping Hand for Cafod
At their post meeting dinner on 20 July 2014, Cardiff Circle were delighted to welcome Bernadette Mills, the Cafod Diocesan Officer for South Wales. Cardiff Immediate Past President Gerry Lynch spoke of his long held admiration for the work of Cafod, founded on his personal experience of seeing them operate during his time working in Africa, before presenting Bernadette with a cheque for £2,910 raised during his presidential year. Bernadette thanked the Circle for their generous donation and gave an insight into how Cafod operate in conjunction with Caritas International in dealing with the after effects of natural disasters in all corners of the world.
