Bernard on the way to second Half Century
At their recent Christmas dinner, Cardiff Circle was delighted to celebrate the 50th Anniversary in the Catenian Association of one of their Brothers. Bro Bernard Deere and his wife Geraldine were presented with a 50 year scroll by Bro John Hall, Director Province 12, in the presence of over 70 Brothers and guests. A number of members of Bernard & Geraldine’s family were present including their daughter Tomasina and son David, also a member of Cardiff Circle. Brother John Hall gave a résumé of Bro Bernard’s Catenian life and in response Bro Bernard said how much he and Geraldine had enjoyed everything that Catenianism had brought to their lives. Due to an “administrative error” the award was a little late as Bernard’s anniversary actually occurred in late 2010 and Bernard remarked that he would endeavour to be around in 2060 to receive his 100 Year scroll.
