Annual Pétanque Evening
Cardiff Circle made their fifth annual visit to the Monkstone Pétanque Club for an evening of Boules on 11 August 2016. Mike Jones the club President welcomed the 28 Brothers, ladies and friends saying that he was very pleased that this had become an annual event. A number of Monkstone club members helped with some basic instruction and coaching although for a number of Catenians it was their fifth visit. The games, which were arranged between combined teams of Catenians and regular boulers, were keenly contested but it was not clear who had won but nobody really cared. After the games all repaired to the club house where refreshments were provided by the Catenians and where liquid refreshment was also available at the bar. Cardiff President, Peter Maunder thanked Mike Jones and the other members for yet another very enjoyable evening. Thanking the Catenians for the donation that they had made to club funds. Mike said how that he was looking forward to the Circle returning again next year.
