2014 President’s Sunday

Gerry’s Day in the Sun

On a gloriously sunny mid-summer day on 22 June 2014, Cardiff Circle President Gerry Lynch held his President’s Sunday attended by around 45 brothers, ladies and guests. The day began with Holy Mass at Christ the King Church, Llanishen celebrated by Canon Matthew Jones. Following the Mass, at which Catenian members and ladies carried out a number of the Ministries, tea/coffee and biscuits were served in the Parish Centre. The group then decanted to the New House Hotel on Thornhill where, after pre-prandial drinks on the terrace, the attendees partook of a very enjoyable three course meal. At the end of the meal Bro Gerry thanked all those who had attended and those who had helped to organise the event. A special mention was made of Bro Benard Deere who would be celebrating his 90th birthday three days later. In his response Bro Bernard said he was grateful for the people he had met through being a member of Cardiff Circle and for the support and companionship he had received in well over 50 years of membership. He concluded by saying that this had continued as new members had joined and he was delighted to see that the Circle was still thriving and growing.
