A Slave of Duty
In early August, Cardiff Circle again visited the outdoor theatre at Dyffryn Gardens. The Illyria Theatre Group, who has been at Dyffryn for the last couple of years, gave their version of Gilbert & Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance. 19 Members, ladies & friends saw the 5 members of the cast give a spirited performance adroitly changing costumes and parts – one minute playing a pirate, then a policeman and then one of the Major General’s daughters regardless of the gender of the actors. A picnic was enjoyed before the show commenced and all were in good spirits despite the unseasonable cold, damp August evening.
